Plant Sale Information & Policies
Quick Summary: Order online, select a pickup time, and arrive during your scheduled pickup window. Pickup hours are scheduled around staff availability, so please plan to arrive during the time you select at checkout.
By placing an order through the Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center plant sale, you agree to the policies outlined below. This page provides important information to help ensure a smooth pickup experience for all customers.
Ordering & Pickup
- All plant sale purchases are pickup only
- Shipping and delivery are not available
- Pickup appointments are selected during checkout
- Please arrive during your scheduled pickup window. Pickup times are carefully scheduled around our small staff's availability.
- Arriving outside your scheduled window may result in a wait while a staff member becomes available to assist you.
- If your plans change, please contact us in advance whenever possible so we can help arrange another pickup time.
Fall 2026 Pickup Schedule
Online order pickup is available during the scheduled windows below. Pickup appointments are selected during checkout.
Why do pickup appointments matter?
We are a small team, and pickup windows are scheduled during times when
staff are available to assist plant sale customers. Please arrive during
the time you select at checkout. If you arrive outside your scheduled
window, we will assist you as soon as staff availability allows.
When can I schedule my pickup?
Pickup appointments open on a rolling basis. Depending on where we are in
the plant sale season, available pickup times may open approximately
1–7 days in advance. If a future date listed below does not
appear during checkout, its appointment times may not be open for booking yet.
Same-day pickup appointments are not available. Orders must be placed by 2:00 p.m. on the day before your desired pickup date.

Pickup availability is limited by time slot and may change as appointments fill.
Pickup Timing & Plant Care
- Plants are guaranteed healthy through your scheduled pickup time
- Once pulled, plants are no longer in optimal growing conditions
- We cannot guarantee plant condition beyond your appointment window

🚗 Pickup & Parking Directions
During pickup-only hours:
- Proceed through the ranch gate
- Park in the designated pickup area on the left side of the circle garden, near the dumpster
- If a staff member or volunteer is not already assisting customers, please call (469) 526-1980 to let us know you have arrived
- Please wait for a staff member or volunteer to release your order before removing plants
Please arrive during your scheduled pickup window. Pickup times are scheduled around staff availability. If you arrive outside your scheduled window, a staff member may not be immediately available and your pickup may be delayed.
During open shopping events:
- The ranch gate will be closed to vehicles
- Park in the main parking area and walk through the ranch gate to the plant sale
- This applies to all visitors, including customers picking up online orders
- If you are picking up an order, check in with a staff member or volunteer when you arrive
- Follow posted signs and any directions from staff or volunteers
When You Arrive
- Customers arriving during their scheduled pickup windows receive priority
- Multiple customers may be scheduled within the same pickup window
- Customers arriving outside their scheduled time may need to wait until staff are available
- If no staff member or volunteer is present, call (469) 526-1980
Order Release
- Orders must be released by a staff member or volunteer
- Please do not remove plants without assistance
- Orders are released only to the purchaser or an authorized pickup person
- ID and/or signature may be required
Shopping During Your Pickup
Want to take another look while you're here? Additional plant purchases may be available during your scheduled pickup when staffing permits.
Please ask a staff member or volunteer before browsing the plant sale area. To help us maintain accurate inventory and keep plants organized for other customers, shopping is available only while a staff member or volunteer is present.
Pickup appointments are scheduled for order pickup and do not guarantee additional shopping time or plant-selection assistance. If staff are available, we're happy to give you an opportunity to shop.
For the best in-person shopping experience and help selecting plants, plan to visit during our October 17 Native Plant Sale.
Accessibility
Our new plant sale location uses a larger, flatter paved area to make in-person shopping easier and more accessible, with more room to move between plants.
Accessible parking will be available near the plant sale area. If you need assistance while shopping or getting your purchases to your vehicle, please let a staff member or volunteer know—we're happy to help.
Shoppers are also welcome to bring their own garden cart, wagon, or other small cart. You won't need to carry your plant selections to the checkout table; we'll come to your plants when you're ready to check out.
Shopping In Person
During scheduled open shopping events, you are welcome to browse and purchase plants in person. Our new plant sale location provides a larger, flatter paved shopping area with more room to move between plants.
🛒 Bring a Cart—or Let Us Help
You are welcome to bring your own garden cart, wagon, or other small cart to use while shopping. To help keep our plant sale aisles open and accessible, please leave carts and wagons outside the shopping aisles.
You do not need to carry all of your plants around the sale or bring them to the checkout table. Choose a spot around the circle garden to gather your selections, and use your cart or wagon to transport your plants after checkout.
How Shopping Works
- As you shop, choose a spot around the circle garden to gather the plants you plan to purchase
- Please keep carts, wagons, and gathered plants outside the shopping aisles so pathways remain open and accessible
- Continue browsing and add plants to your group as you shop
- When you're ready to check out, let us know at the checkout table
- We'll come to your plants to complete your purchase, so you do not need to carry everything to the register
- After checkout, you may load your purchases into your own cart or wagon
- If you need help, a volunteer can load your plants onto one of our carts and assist you to the parking lot
Plant-Selection Assistance
For personalized help choosing plants for your garden, plan to attend our October 17 Native Plant Sale from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Staff and volunteers will be available that day to help with plant selections.
Additional open-shopping opportunities will be offered later in the season, but plant-selection assistance may be limited.
Plant Selection & Sales Policy
- Plants are pulled in advance for your order
- Please inspect plants before accepting your order
- All sales are final once plants leave our possession
- No returns or exchanges
Plant Representation
- Photos generally show what plants look like when mature
- Plants may be smaller or less mature than they appear in photos
- Plant size and appearance will vary based on container size and time of year
- Color and appearance may vary due to growing conditions and screen display
Coupons & Discounts
Coupons valid for the gift shop or admission are not valid for plant sale purchases.

We are a small team managing a seasonal, high-demand plant sale. Scheduled pickup windows allow us to provide convenient pickup options while continuing to manage the center's other programs and operations. We appreciate your help by arriving during your selected time.
